Nepal playing against UAE today as part of the World Cup qualifiers

Kathmandu. Nepal is scheduled to play against UAE today under the joint selection of FIFA World Cup 2026 and Asian Cup 2027.

Nepal is scheduled to play FIFA World Cup 2026 and Asian Cup 2027 second round qualifying matches against UAE on June 6 and Yemen on June 11.

These matches, which are supposed to be played at the domestic ground, are going to be played in Saudi Arabia as a 'neutral venue' since the Dashrath stadium is not suitable for international matches. After AFC said that the infrastructure of Dashrath Stadium is not suitable for playing international matches, Nepal has lost the opportunity to play at home.

Earlier, Nepal also played a match against Bahrain in Bahrain.

This match, which will be held at the Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd Stadium in Saudi Arabia, will start at 9:45 pm according to Nepali time. 23 players have been selected for the Nepali team to play against UAE and Yemen. 

Vincenzo Alberto Enes, the head coach of the Nepali team, has announced a 23-member Nepali team for these two games on Sunday. In which Ayush Ghalan, who was not in the team before, has made a comeback, while Basant Jimba and Ashiqbabu Chaudhary have got an opportunity in the national team for the first time. Similarly, Anjan Bista is not in the team due to injury.

Nepali Football Team Squad:

Goalkeepers: Kiran Chemjong, Abhishek Baral and Vishal Sunar.
Defenders: Anant Tamang, Abhishek Limbu, Bimal Pandey, Vishal Basnet, Chiring Lama, Rohit Chand, Sanish Shrestha and Saubhagya Rai.
Midfielders: Bharat Khawas, Laken Limbu, Manish Dangi, Basant Zimba, Sumit Shrestha, Manikumar Lama and Ashish Rai.
Forwards: Jilespejang Karki, Hisub Thapalia, Ashiqbabu Chaudhary, Sanjeev Bista and Ayush Ghalan.

Nepal, which is in Group H of the World Cup qualifiers, has lost all four matches it has played before. Nepal lost 4-0 in the previous match against UAE.
