Pakistan had a target of 120 runs to win, but could only manage 113 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.
This is India's second consecutive win and Pakistan's second consecutive defeat. It was also the match in which India defended the lowest total in T20Is.
Mohammad Rizwan top scored for Pakistan with 31 runs. He hit 1 four and 1 six off 44 balls.
While Imad Wasim added 15 runs off 23 balls, captain Babar Azam, Usman Khan and Fakhar Zaman contributed 13 runs each. Jasprit Bumrah took 3 wickets and Hardik Pandya took 2 wickets for India.
India, who lost the toss and batted first, lost all wickets in 19 overs and scored 119 runs.
India had a poor start to the game. Virat Kohli was dismissed for just 12 runs and captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 19 runs. Kohli could only score 4 runs while Sharma scored 13 runs off 12 balls. He hit 1 four and 1 six.
Rishabh Pant and Akshar Patel then took over India's innings. The two combined for 39 runs off 30 balls. Pant top scored 42 runs for the team. Facing 31 balls, he hit 6 fours. Akshar Patel added 20 runs off 18 balls. He hit 2 fours and 1 six.
Pant then shared a 22-ball 31-run partnership with Suryakumar Yadav. But then India started losing wickets continuously. Naseem Shah and Harris Rauf took 3 wickets each for Pakistan. Shah bowled 4 overs and spent only 21 runs. Similarly, Rauf bowled 3 overs and gave away 21 runs. Mohammad Amir took 2 wickets.
