KATHMANDU: Tragedy struck as a plane belonging to Saurya Airlines crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, igniting into flames.
According to sources at Tribhuvan International Airport, the aircraft skidded off the runway during takeoff, resulting in an accident.
The incident occurred as the plane was departing from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
Nineteen passengers were aboard the plane.
Following the accident, the aircraft caught fire, releasing a significant plume of smoke.
A team of firefighters and security personnel has been deployed to extinguish the fire on the aircraft due to the accident.

It is understood that there were 19 people traveling in the flight 9N-AME of Saurya Airlines which flew from Kathmandu to Pokhara. According to the information officer of Nepal Civil Aviation Authority, Gyanendra Bhul, the plane flew from Kathmandu to Pokhara. 18 people have been confirmed dead, and Pilot was rescued and taken to nearby KMC Hospital.
According to the authority, this ship, which was flown for a technical test, met with an accident. Now the rescue work is going on.
