Rastriya Swatantra Party to Participate in Local Level By-Elections

Kathmandu. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (Raswapa) has announced its participation in the upcoming local level by-elections. 

The decision to participate in the forthcoming local level by-elections scheduled for Mangsir was made in a central committee meeting held on Wednesday.

By-elections for 34 vacant local level seats will take place across the country this Mangsir. The Election Commission has already proposed to the government to hold by-elections for various 34 vacant positions at the local level in the third week of Mangsir.

According to the Election Commission, after the local elections held on Baishakh 30, 2079, a total of 34 positions including mayors and deputy mayors of municipalities, chairs and vice-chairs of rural municipalities, and ward chairs remain vacant nationwide.
