Ban on TMS at Government Offices
Kathmandu. A ban has been imposed on the trading system (TMS) at all government offices.
The government made this decision after employees were found engaged in stock trading instead of serving the clients. Directives have been issued to ensure that TMS will not operate in all ministries, commissions, secretariats, and local government offices.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli informed about this via the social media platform Facebook, stating-
Engaging in private stock trading while at government offices is illegal from a legal perspective. It has adversely affected government functioning, and there have been complaints about the impact on the work of clients. Addressing these public grievances, the government has now imposed a ban on the trading system (TMS) at all government offices across the country. Directives have been issued to ensure TMS will not operate in all ministries, commissions, secretariats, and local government offices. I request that only government work be done in government offices from now on.
