Ravi Lamichhane Arrested

Kathmandu. Chairman of the National Independent Party (Raswapa) Ravi Lamichhane has been arrested.

The joint bench of judges Ramesh Dhakal and Swikriti Parajuli of the High Court in Tulsipur issued an order to send Ravi to custody, overturning the order of the Rupandehi District Court, following which police arrested him at his residence in Budhanilkantha.

A team from the Valley Crime Investigation Office has taken him into custody.

Just a little while ago, he had stated that he would surrender to the police.

'Respecting the order of the honorable court, I am surrendering myself today at this very moment. Also, other doors of the court may remain open for me. For justice, I will knock on all doors of the world. A great injustice has been done to me. Please do not obstruct the meeting in Chitwan,' he had written on social media.
