On April 24, 2026, the 'Beijing Auto Show 2026' delivered a new shock to the global automobile industry. On this day, Chinese EV manufacturer BYD unveiled its new premium SUV 'Great Tang' from the Dynasty series.

Within 24 hours of booking opening, Chinese customers have booked over 30,000 orders. With this figure, BYD has set a new record for the fastest booking number for a single model. Analysts state that this enthusiasm in the Chinese market confirms the growing craze for premium EVs.

The Great Tang is a 7-seater SUV from BYD's 'Dynasty' series. Its length is 5,302 mm (approximately 4.97 meters), width is 1,999 mm (approximately 1.95 meters), and height is 1,800 mm (1.72 meters). The company stated that the wheelbase of 3,130 mm provides ample space inside the vehicle. The company claims that passengers in the second and third rows will experience business class comfort.

This vehicle is based on BYD's 'Super E-Platform' and utilizes the second-generation blade battery known for its safety and energy density, being considered the best in the industry.

The most significant attraction of the Great Tang is its 1000-volt architecture. Thanks to this architecture, the vehicle supports flash charging of up to 1000 kilowatts. According to the company, just 5 minutes of charging can provide a range of over 200 kilometers. Depending on the variant, a full charge can achieve a range of approximately 850 to 950 kilometers.

Inside the cabin, there is a 'Smart Health Eco Cabin'. The dashboard features three large screens — one for the driver, one for entertainment, and one for the front passenger. For passengers seated in the rear, there is a separate entertainment display hung from the ceiling. Folding tables, a small fridge, and a premium audio system with 27 speakers are additional attractions of the vehicle.

The vehicle's ground clearance ranges from 190 mm to 250 mm. The company claims that passengers will not feel jolted even on bumpy roads.

When entering the market, the company estimates the price of the Great Tang to be between $36,200 and $46,400.
