Jestha 2081 Interest Rate Update: Commercial Banks Reduce Interest Rates

Kathmandu, Baisakh 31.  Commercial banks have published new interest rates for the month of Jestha 2081. According to the published information, the interest rates of banks have decreased slightly compared to the month of Baisakh.

19 banks, which were giving interest at an average rate of 7.14 percentage points on personal term deposits in the month of Baisakh, will give interest at an average rate of 7.06 percentage points in the month of Jestha 2081. The average interest rate of 19 banks decreased by 0.07 percentage points in Jestha compared to the month of Baisakh.

Same Interest Rate as Baisakh

In the month of Jestha, 9 banks are going to continue with the same interest rates as in the month of Baisakh. The banks maintaining stable interest rates are Himalayan Bank, Prabhu Bank, Kumari Bank, Machhapuchche Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Nepal Investment Mega Bank, Lakshmi Sunrise Bank, Nepal Bank, and National Commercial Bank.. 

Decreased Interest Rate

In the month of Jestha, eight commercial banks have decreased their interest rates compared to those in the month of Baisakh. NMB Bank, Citizens International Bank, Siddharth Bank, Prime Commercial Bank, Sanima Bank, Nabil Bank, Everest Bank, and Nepal SBI Bank have all decreased their interest rates for Jestha.

Increased Interest Rate

In the month of Jestha, two commercial banks have increased their interest rates compared to those in the month of Baisakh. NIC Asia Bank and Global IME Bank have opted to raise their interest rates for the month of Jestha.

NMB Bank and NIC Asia Bank are offering the highest interest rates for the month of Jestha. Both banks are set to provide a maximum interest rate of 7.8 percent on personal term deposits, with institutional term deposits receiving a maximum of 6.8 percent interest.

Conversely, Nepal SBI Bank is offering the lowest interest rate among the mentioned banks. It will offer a maximum interest rate of 6.39 percent on individual term deposits.
