Kathmandu: The Kaski District Police Office has stated that it has taken serious notice of the leaked image alleged to be of Ravi Lamichhane, the chairman of the Rastriya Swotantra Party (RSP), in custody.

The office spokesperson, DSP Basant Kumar Sharma, issued a press release on Thursday, stating that the image has negatively impacted the professionalism of the police during factual investigations and has gone viral on social media. It is mentioned that the photo was published from Dr. Nicholas Bhusal's Facebook page.

The police have appealed to everyone to assist in the investigation while being mindful of the importance of confidentiality during the dissemination of information and news.

Lamichhane, who is also a former Home Minister, has been in custody for over two months on charges of cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering. In this context, a photo of him allegedly sleeping in a custody cell has gone viral on social media.

The police have not clearly indicated whether the image belongs to Ravi or not. However, they have indirectly acknowledged that the photo is indeed of Lamichhane by stating that those involved in the unauthorized dissemination of materials will face legal action.
